JoJo Fletcher is looking back at the highs and lows of her personal fertility journey before she celebrates her first Mother’s Day as a parent.
“You never know what to expect when you begin this journey,” the reality TV star, 35, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, April 28. “You don’t know if it’s going to be easy, if it’s going to be hard, how long it’s going to take — the struggles and the things that you may go through.”
The former Bachelorette continued, “I’ve been open about that. I got pregnant, actually, a long time ago, and miscarried. And then tried for a long time after that. And so I think because of experiencing those things, it was heartbreaking and very hard … when it works, and when you have this child in your arms, it’s just — I can’t say you’re so much more appreciative of it, but just because I feel like every mom, whether it’s your first or whatever, you still feel this immense amount of love. There’s just something so, so special about finally seeing this human in your arms that you created.
JoJo and her husband, Jordan Rodgers, welcomed baby girl Romy Blair Rodgers via emergency c-section last year, just two days before Christmas Day 2025. Since then, the pair have been basking in newborn baby bliss — according to JoJo, her marriage has even reached “another level” since the birth of her daughter.

“We’ve always been really good working as a team. Like, we do things together all the time,” Fletcher told Us on Tuesday, while promoting her partnership with Hallmark. “We travel, we work together [and] we’re together all the time, so we know that we’re good working as a team, but I think when you become parents, it’s, like, this completely different level of really leaning on each other and remembering, ‘This is your partner, this is your teammate.’”

JoJo met her husband on her season of The Bachelorette in 2016. While working to maintain their essential date nights while in the throes of new-parent life, the reality TV star is also committed to being open and honest about the realities of pregnancy and parenthood — even when the topics are often difficult to discuss.
“It’s a very sensitive topic,” she explained to us. “And my heart goes out for every mom that is going through it, because I went through it. But there’s always just… keep hope. I just had to hold on to the hope that it was going to work out and when the timing was meant to be.”
She added, “I just had to shift my mindset to staying positive. [It’s] very hard to do, [but] so incredible. [I’m] so happy. The greatest thing that I could have ever imagined for my life is her.”

JoJo told Us that even though she was pregnant last Mother’s Day, she decided she was going to wait to celebrate the holiday as a mom herself until her daughter was born.
“I was like, ‘Hey, I’m pregnant. I have my baby. But I’m not gonna celebrate Mother’s Day, truly. I’m gonna wait until she’s here,’” she explained. So for me, obviously, this is a fun first Mother’s Day.”
