Jenny Mollen Tells Critics to ‘Call the Cops’ Over Hug With Son After Backlash

Jenny Mollen trolled her haters in a new photo with her son just weeks after receiving backlash for a controversial caption she shared along with an image of them embracing in bed.

“Somebody call the cops, I’m hugging my son who I haven’t seen in three days,” Mollen, 47, wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, June 15.

In the photo, Mollen covered her son’s face with a heart emoji while she leaned over and embraced her child on a sidewalk. (Mollen shares sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8, with estranged husband Jason Biggs.)

The actress wore boardshorts, a striped oversized shirt, flip flops and a hat. Her son was also dressed casually in tye-dye shorts, a white T-shirt and blue Crocs.

The mother-son duo hugged each other with one arm while holding onto cold drinks in the other.

Mollen’s cheeky caption came less than one month after she sparked backlash from parenting critics. On May 25, she shared two pictures via Instagram, one of which showed her laying on top of Sid on a bed with her hands around the back of her son’s head. The second photo showed the pair lying next to each other on the bed with their arms intertwined in each other’s hair.

“Your eldest son will be the most toxic guy you ever date,” the since-deleted caption read.

Fans were quick to call out the post for allegedly being “creepy” and inappropriate.

“Saw the original post with the original caption. 😳 Super weird. And I have boys the same age. And yes we hug and cuddle but that caption was creepy AF,” one user wrote.

Another added, “Hugging your kids: Healthy and encouraged. Calling your child your boyfriend and posting photos of you lying between their legs on a bed: Not healthy or encouraged. Your child is not your boyfriend. A boyfriend is a romantic partner.”

Mollen — whose split from Biggs, 48, was announced in May after 18 years of marriage — responded to the criticism on June 1 via her Instagram Story.

Jenny Mollen Felt Like the ‘American Pie’ Spare in Jason Biggs Marriage

“It’s like because I’m getting separated, because I’m not protected by the institution of marriage, I’m suddenly like a different kind of target in what I’m posting,” Mollen wrote at the time. “Like this is absolutely jaw-dropping. A photo of me hugging my 12-year-old child is getting ridiculed.”

Mollen explained in a June 8 Substack post that the pictures were taken “on a Monday night after [Sid] returned from a weekend away.”

She then defended the photos and her original caption, writing, “The joke that offended people was: ‘Your eldest son will be the most toxic boyfriend you ever have.’ And he is.”

Jenny Mollen Admits to Rushing Through Life After Jason Biggs Split

Mollen revealed, “Parenthood has demanded a level of commitment and self-sacrifice from me that, in any other context, would be considered pathological. I’d never accept this kind of relationship under any other circumstances. And yet here I am, jumping through fire, constantly striving for affection and approval, waiting by the phone for a guy who can’t even drive.”

She added, “When my kids were young, I was so overwhelmed. There was so much they needed that it felt almost impossible to catch my breath. I spent the last decade begging for five minutes alone, only to get exactly what I asked for. And it has broken my heart. It will break your heart, too. Don’t let anyone shame you for holding on while you still can.”

Biggs, who Us confirmed on May 14 is on “great terms” with Mollen amid their separation, has not publicly commented on the controversial images.
