A mother in Baltimore is seeking answers after her daughter and her boyfriend were killed on a birthday trip to Texas.
Syreeta Chase said that her daughter, 27-year-old India Thomas, and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Darrell Hall, traveled to Houston in February and they planned to continue Thomas’ birthday celebration by going to Miami.
Chase said she was in contact with Thomas throughout the day on February 27, though stopped hearing from her around 11 p.m.
Houston police confirmed Thomas and Hall were found dead the following day on Radio Road, according to CBS News. Investigators said that Hall’s body was found in the roadway, while Thomas was located in a nearby ditch. Both Hall and Thomas were found with multiple gunshot wounds.

Chase told that outlet that she learned of her daughter’s death during a phone call with Hall’s mother and investigators.
“Darrell’s mother Amber called me and homicide was on the phone and I instantly just lost it,” she said.
Police officers have not announced any suspects in the case and the investigation into the killings remains ongoing. However, Chase said that she believes the couple may have been killed by someone they knew.
“The people who did it, they have to be evil,” she said.
Chase went on to say that she is determined to get justice for her daughter and Hall.
“My daughter is going to be the reason why you don’t get a chance to ever do this to another person,” she said in a message to the killer.
Also while speaking to the outlet, Chase said she had a feeling that something bad would happen on the trip and she urged Thomas to not go to Texas.
“My intuition told me that my daughter should not be hanging out in Texas,” she said. “Her boyfriend frequented Texas, and for some reason, I just told my daughter not to go with him.”

Chase said that once she stopped hearing from Thomas, she “knew in my heart that something was wrong.”
Chase made sure to fondly remember her daughter during the interview and shared insight into what their relationship was like.
“She was a spoiled, cute little curly-haired girl with big eyes, and she had a sassy personality,” Chase said. “You know how girls go out with their girlfriends? That’s how I hung out with my daughter.”
Thomas was a mother to two children, and she shared one of her kids with Hall.
