At Sean “Diddy” Combs latest court hearing in New York City, prosecutors shared more details about what they seized during raids on his homes earlier this year.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson said during Diddy’s Thursday, October 10, court hearing that 96 electronic devices were seized in March when authorities raided the rapper’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles and an unspecified private airport in Florida. Johnson said another four devices were later seized when Diddy, 54, was arrested last month.
She went on to note that eight devices seized in Miami contained over 90 terabytes of information, which she described as “extraordinary.” Johnson also added that investigators are still working to extract some information because of technological reasons.
At the Thursday hearing, Judge Arun Subramanian set Diddy’s trial date for May 5, 2025. Subramanian also ruled that Diddy must remain bars until his trial following his third appeal for bail earlier this week.
When Is Diddy’s Next Court Date? Details on His Upcoming Trial
Diddy was arrested in Manhattan on September 16 after being indicted by a grand jury.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” his lawyer Marc Agnifilo said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community.”
The statement continued: “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
A Timeline of Diddy’s Legal Troubles, Accusations and Arrests
The unsealed indictment claimed that Diddy abused, threatened and coerced women for years “to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct,” with allegations dating back to 2009.
Diddy allegedly “relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled — creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice,” per the indictment.
One day after his arrest, Diddy pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was initially denied bail after prosecutors claimed he was a flight risk. Although his lawyer filed an appeal, a judge denied the request, ordering him to stay at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his trial.
Breaking Down All of the Allegations Against Diddy
In September, Diddy’s attorney shared some insight into his state of mind following his arrest, telling Us that he was “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense.”
Earlier that month, Agnifilo insisted on CNN’s The Source With Kaitlan Collins that he was confident about the outcome of the trial. “He’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent of the charges,” he said. “He is going to go to trial. And I believe he’s going to win.”
