Gigi Hadid is hoping to instill one beauty lesson in her 6-year-old daughter, Khai.
“That makeup is to be fancy and it’s for special occasions and for fun,” Hadid, 31, exclusively told Us before the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Sunday, October 18, of the knowledge that she wants to pass down.
Hadid, who welcomed her daughter in September 2020 with ex Zayn Malik, shared that the beloved Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has a special spot in Khai’s heart. (Hadid and Malik, 33, dated on and off for years before splitting for good in 2021. Hadid has been dating actor Bradley Cooper since 2023.)
“She loves this show. She calls it the angels show,” Hadid told Us of her daughter. “It’s very much the most sparkly and pink show there is. So as a 6-year-old girl, it makes sense it’s her favorite.”

The event, held at the Sony Lot in Culver City, California, is a family affair for Gigi, who is set to share the runway with sister Bella Hadid.
“I’m so excited to see her in her full look today,” Gigi told Us of Bella, 30. “Everything that we can do together is special and I just am really lucky to be able to do it with my sister.”
Gigi’s appearance on Sunday marks her sixth at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after the supermodel made her debut in 2015 at the age of 20. Reflecting back on her first experience, Gigi shared that she has “gotten more confident” but thinks she’s “the same” inside.
“It’s been my dream since I was very young to do this show and I’ve been with the company for a lot of different changes. I think that where we are today is so wonderful. It feels so good, in this company there’s a lot of women running the show and Adam Selman, who a lot of us have known and loved since early on in our careers,” she told Us of the brand’s chief creative officer. “It’s wonderful to see him have this position in the brand. He’s just such a great creative and someone that makes us feel all really special and beautiful.”

In the weeks leading up to Sunday’s event, Gigi celebrated Khai’s birthday with an emotional message for her daughter.
“My baby turned 6 last week🥹🥹 celebrating her is such a gift,” she wrote via Instagram. “My mirror, my muse, the most fulfilling love. Couldn’t have imagined you in my wildest dreams!
