DIY influencer Kate Albrecht went viral when she revealed that her family of four all sleep in the same Florida King-sized bed.
“We’ve had a few of our Instagram posts have gone viral. Once you hit that viral point and you’ve been opened up to just, like, the masses,” Albrecht, 42, said during the Tuesday, May 5, episode of her “Rug Cuddle” podcast. “You know you hit that viral point when you start getting these random ass comments.”
Albrecht and her husband, former The Click Five drummer Joey Zehr, revealed via Instagram last month that they built a “family bed” to cosleep with their two kids. (The influencer couple share son Moon, 6, and daughter Mars, 11 months.)
“The one [comment] that kept coming in was like, ‘P. Diddy, is that you?’” Albrecht, who shares DIY and interiors content under her “Mr. Kate” username, explained about the comparisons to Sean “Diddy” Combs. “I was, like, ‘What does P. Diddy have to do with it?’ I looked it up and P. Diddy, I guess, during a party or something, [he] had a 50-foot bed in his backyard.”
Diddy Predicted He’d Be Arrested for His Parties in 1999 Interview
Diddy, 56, was arrested in 2024 for charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, with allegations dating back to 2009 and based on several of the disgraced music mogul’s lavish parties. Diddy maintained his innocence before being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in 2025. The rapper, who was acquitted on the remaining charges pertaining to sex trafficking and racketeering, is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
Albrecht, who has no connection to Diddy, further denied that making a big bed had anything to do with replicating the music mogul’s furnishings.
“It’s huge and we love it ‘cause we can just spread out and, obviously, we sleep as a family,” Albrecht explained. “We’ve got Mars in there, me, Joey, Moon. … This was perfect ‘cause if we had gotten a longer bed, it would have taken up precious floor space that’s in front of the closet and everything. The point is, there are these oversized beds out there.”

Albrecht and Zehr, 43, built their bed frame and upholstered a headboard “the week” before they welcomed daughter Mars in May 2025.
“That project in general was just so much fun because we also DIY’ed the headboard,” Zehr added. “We got these, like, cool headboard pieces off of Etsy that we then combined to make a wall-to-wall headboard. Then, obviously, we built the entire bed frame ‘cause otherwise you’d have to spend thousands of dollars to get a giant bed frame made.”
