Southern Charm star Shep Rose expressed some regrets over his past relationship with Taylor Ann Green in his new memoir.
“I do have a lot of guilt associated with Taylor and our relationship. I cheated. I was partying a lot, sending her home in Ubers and staying out with fellow nightlife folks,” Shep, 46, wrote in his latest book, Nothing in Moderation: A Psychedelic Reckoning With Excess, released Tuesday, July 21. “She was right: I thought I was some sort of rock star.”
Shep admitted that he would “have one-night stands” after attending events during their relationship and just hoped that no one would “post a picture” of him.
“I didn’t want to, or know how to, say no to anything that was offered, be it girls, drugs, liquor,” he wrote. “I hate admitting it, but I was sort of a bad guy, piss-poor morally.”
Shep and Taylor, 31, were together for two years before splitting in 2022. Taylor departed Southern Charm in 2025 after season 10, but Shep has hinted that they’re on good terms.
“She loved me so much and she cared about me so much and I took it for granted and I care about her and her family very much,” he said on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio earlier this month. “Thankfully, that relationship stayed somewhat connected.”

Recalling Taylor’s Love
Shep’s book detailed his experience with ayahuasca during a week-long trip to Costa Rica. While on the hallucinogenic drug, the Bravo star admitted he couldn’t help but reflect on his relationship with Taylor.
“I thought about my ex-girlfriend Taylor, about how much she loved me. I could just see it in her eyes every day. And in her arms and kisses,” he wrote. “She would crawl all over me when I would be trying to watch a documentary, trying to cuddle, and I would get mad because I wanted her to pay attention to the film.”
Shep continued, “And I know I took it for granted. But it was special. I wasn’t scared to lose her, though. Which maybe I need?”
Staying Close to Taylor’s Family
Following his stay in Costa Rica, Shep recalled getting lunch with Taylor’s mom, Leslie Green, and sister Catie King.
Shep wrote that Leslie would “periodically” check in on him. Shep speculated that Leslie “sees a lot” of her late son, Worth Green, in him. (Worth died at 36 in 2023.)
“I was thinking of him because, like me, he was a big personality, a bull in a china shop. But his true colors were amazing. Funny, generous of spirit, thoughtful with boundless energy, etc.,” Shep wrote, noting that there was also “a reckless, excess-driven, and dangerous side” to their shared personality.

How Shep Fell in Love With Taylor
Shep was drawn to Taylor’s “true colors,” he wrote.
“She lit up a room and made everyone feel happy around her. Kind and always laughing and supporting others,” the star recalled. “Every one of my friends was crazy about her and us.”
Regrets About Putting Taylor on Reality TV
Shep expressed some regret about how Taylor was “vilified for different actions and reactions” on Southern Charm.
“It’s just tough to think that bringing her into the TV world is all on me,” he wrote, noting that while things seemed “normal” to him, they actually weren’t.
“Everyone was watching and waiting for cracks in our relationship,” he recalled. “My only hope is that Taylor is able to look back at this crazy but exciting time in her life, when we got to go and do things, see places, and make fun of each other, and have it produce a smile.”
