Why Kylie Kelce Will ‘Under No Circumstance’ Wear String Bikinis Again

Kylie Kelce is opening up about her decision to avoid one type of swim suit style: a string bikini.

“Personally after having four children, I can honestly say I don’t think I’m going to wear a bikini again,” Kelce, 34, said on the Thursday, July 2, episode of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, while chatting with guest Ilona Maher. “It kind of goes along with the lines of what you’re saying, of where like, I may wear a high-waisted bikini, but under no circumstance am I popping on a string bikini and that’s my business because that’s what feels comfortable for my body.”

Kelce, who is a mom of four daughters, shared that she finds a “full suit” to be “stunning” and compared the look to Baywatch.

“There’s something very Baywatch about a full suit, and Baywatch was the epitome of sexy, beach. Like lean in,” she said.

When Maher, 28, asked if she’s opting for a “full butt coverage suit” or a “high-waisted” cut instead, Kelce replied, “It depends.”

“Right now, I do low. When I’ve worked out more — we’re getting back into it. I’m getting back into it,” she explained. “I’m getting a little squat action. We’re getting the tush back up to where she previously was. My field hockey butt, she was good. She was good. We’re going to see if we can have her reappear.”

Kelce added that when she heads to the beach, she wants to be able to “move around” — which includes playing in the water or participating in physical games.

“I wanna jump in the waves, I want to play games … I want to play mermaids,” Kelce said. “So if I’m supposed to dive into a wave like [Princess] Ariel, then I’m going to need something that’s definitely not flying off. So that needs to be taken into consideration.”

Kylie, who tied the knot with retired NFL husband Jason Kelce in 2018, welcomed eldest daughter Wyatt in 2019. The pair have since added daughters Ellie, Bennett and Finn to their family in 2021, 2023 and 2025, respectively. Since giving birth, Kylie has been candid about navigating her feelings surrounding her postpartum body.

“I had my belly button pierced,” Kylie said during a June episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. “It stretched out with the rest of my belly while I was making human beings and then it never went back. It is truly something that bothers me so much.”

Kylie added that she tries to remind herself that her “body has made four human beings.”

“You have to give yourself grace. You must,” she continued. “We talked about this so many times and I’ll say it until the end of time: It sucks dressing yourself after you give birth. It is hard to look at your body that does not look like your body that you have lived with your whole life. It is changed in a way that is permanent, and now you have to figure out how to dress it not only in regular clothing, but also in bathing suits. That sucks. We can all just be like, ‘Hey, this sucks.’”

While speaking to listeners, Kylie encouraged others to remember that they are their biggest critics.

“When you are going on vacation, out to a beach, to the pool, the person who is the most concerned about what you look like in your bathing suit is you,” she said. “Other people are not going to be highly bothered by your bathing suit or how you look in it. They’re also not going to be nearly as critical.”

Kylie concluded, “My point is that we need to be more gentle on ourselves and not let bathing suits be the thing that hold us back from enjoying our summer activities. Promise?”
